A unique combination of pure Matka silk and the finest Muslins along with intricate handwoven motifs by the weavers of West Bengal.
Matka Silk is a rough handloom silk fabric. The yarns of Matka silk are obtained from short ends of silk from Mulberry silkworms and spun by hand without removing the gum that is called sericin. It is largely obtained from the states of Karnataka and Kashmir but it is hand spun in the Malda and Murshidabad districts in West Bengal.
Since Matka comes from thick yarn spun from the silk worm it carries some irregularities in the fabric. Resembling tweed in texture, the irregularities are expected and considered unique.
